Hi everyone, as I said on my 5th meeting post about our 1 minute music video, we have been working on a bloopers/behind the scenes video to make it more interesting for you. We have now finished this and here is what it ended up like, hope you enjoy...
Today, as we finished editing our 1-minute music video and uploaded it, we have now started to think more about what we want our CD cover and back to look like. Here are some ideas that we had in mind:
For the front cover of the CD:
Here are three picture which we took during the making of our 1 minute music video. We are planning on using one of these for the front cover of our CD. We will let you know later on which one we decided to use and why...

option 2
option 3
For the back of the CD:
The girls braid with the daisies in it (close-up)
just a jumble of daisies (also a close-up)
Here is a quick sketch that I did of the front and back cover based on our initial ideas to give us something to work off of (this is not our final idea):
We also had the idea of using graphics where we included some animated characters on the cover of our CD. However, we then decided that this wouldn't go as well with our overall theme as well as we initially thought it would. Therefore we have ditched this idea as we want to go with something more soft looking.
Today we finished editing our the whole of our 1-minute music video. During this, we added more photos and clips to fill in the missing segments that looked a bit awkward. Also, we colour corrected a lot of the clips that we included in our video to brighten the whole thing up. This is because when we were filming, the scenery was very dull and rainy (However we wanted it to look more bright and sunny to match the positive attitude of the song we were using). . We may need to add some more effects to make the transition smooth (we will let you know later on if we added anything and I will post the finished product as soon as possible).
However, tomorrow we plan on starting to edit the bloopers/behind the scenes reel that I have previously talked about as we have lots of extra footage and we thought it would be interesting to show. We will be using this bloopers/behind the scenes video in our 5th meeting post like I said (it will give you information of what we did on that day of filming as well as seeing some other cool stuff!)
Todays meeting for our 1-minute music video consisted of us starting to edit all of the photos and clips that we had shot. We started to order the clips into the correct order as well as organising the shots that we did with the green screen (we put backgrounds on them which we decided were going to be different colours to make it colourful, like the positive energy of the song). Our final colour choices were yellow, blue, pink, and purple (these were used behind the clapping hands which can be seen on one of our previous practice videos). The colours in the background change when each pair of hands appear on the screen (this should be effective if it works and should keep the audience excited to carry on watching).
Here are some shots, one of our previous practice video without the green screen effects and one from after we had added the effect. We learnt how to do this my watching a video on YouTube.
Here is a before and after of some of the clapping hands used at the begining of our
music video:
Here's another example of a shot of Elsie we used in our music video of he lip
Today we did a lot more filming for our 1 minute music video (in fact we got a lot done that we needed to). This included things such as the high angled shot of me on the floor, looking out of the window, Tammy (playing the boy in our music video) walking out of the door, me following him, more miming shots and a range of other shots that we filmed outside.
We thought that it would be fun to do something different and make a short vlog/bloopers video of what our day consisted of (this will be uploaded as soon as we have finished editing it)
However, here are some screen grabs of what we got up to...
Hi everyone, as you know for our 1-minute music video task I have been working with Tammy and Elsie. Here is the storyboard that we have been using and will use more to help us during the filming and editing of our final product, hope you like it...
(The question marks in the last two boxes mean that we are not sure exactly what we are going to put at the ending of our video. This is because we don't know what more ideas we might come up with when finding locations and what is available).
For our fourth meeting about our 1 minute music vide myself, Tammy and Elsie took some photos which we will use at the beginning of our video after the lyrics "come on" (this is to introduce the character and things that she likes to do).
This will go to the beat of the music.
We took photos of my character reading, jumping up in the air, outside on the field with flowers in her hair, drawing and sat on the grass against the tree.
We also filmed a high shot of my character spinning around on the field with the flowers in my hair to show the carefree personality of my character in the music video.
Finally, we organised where we would meet for the next meeting, the time to meet as well as locations. Tomorrow we will be filming at the local church, spar, park and at my house.
We have booked the equipment needed which is a DLSR, tripod and shoulder mount.
Today me, Elsie and Tammy started filming some of the ideas that we had for our 1 minute music video. During this we used a tripod, DLSR and a pop up green screen. We filmed parts which included Elsie lip syncing and made sure that we played the music in the background on a phone so as we knew that what we were doing was going to be in time.
During this we also managed to filmed some volunteers hands clapping to the beat, this included myself, Tammy's, Alex Hunter's (a person from another group) and Mr Welch.
Music was played in the background for this as well to make sure it matched the clapping on the track (this follows one of Pete Fraser's nine top steps to success making a music video for A level).
For the lyrics "come on" at the beginning of the song we tried to do an extreme close up of Elsie's mouth miming but the shot was blurry and didn't come out how we wanted it to, therefore we decided to do a mid shot (in editing we may zoom in).
Myself and Josie did some practice shots earlier on (which I posted about) using a clone effect. (We may use this in a segment of the chorus. However, Josie is no longer in our group).
Here is the video of all the shots so far which I edited in movie maker, although this is very different to how the finished product will look because I did this quickly to get ideas, so the lip syncing and some clapping shots are not exactly in time.
Hi everybody, today we did a short practice for our 1 minute music video. We thought that it would be fun to try out something new and try and clone myself whilst miming to a part of the song that we are using.
This is what we did for our second meeting for our one minute music video:
0-6 seconds we will have four different shots of people clapping from different angles. This may involve turning/flipping the footage when editing.
6-7 seconds with the lyrics "Come on" will have Elise lip syncing the words.
7-12 seconds will have four pictures which will go for each bar of music that will be me doing a variety of things such as painting and reading.
12-15 seconds with the lyrics "She's the girl with the best intentions" will have Elsie lip syncing and then she will turn her head to the side so we can use some sort of transition.
15-18 seconds will have a shot of me at a park on a swing.
18-21 seconds with the lyrics "He's a man of his own invention's" will have Elsie lip syncing.
21-23 seconds will have the actor playing the male role (we don't know who this will be yet) in a science lab doing an experiment with a Bunsen burner. (most likely a flame test).
That's all we've gotten so far but here's some more ideas we've had:
During the chorus having me on the floor surrounded by things I've collected which will fit the lyric "I want something that I want". Also, have me taking things off a shops shelves showing her curiosity in everything and her want for something.
If there is any space in music that needs to be filled we could just have people dancing, for example, have close up's of their feet when their dancing. As well as film as much footage of me on the floor surrounded by things to keep flashing back to it.
For our 1 minute music video we decided which groups we wanted to be in and I decided that I was going to work with Tammy, Elsie, and Josie. I will be working together with them and we decided on the song 'Something That I Want' by Grace Potter. This is a song that was released in 2010 as a part of the movie soundtrack of Tangled (a Disney film which this song was used during the ending credits). We think the genre of this song would be classed as a pop love song. We also made sure that the song would end at an appropriate time at the end of the first chorus, making it end at 1:02.
Together we have already started creating the storyboard and we wrote down some ideas for what we wanted to include in the video. We decided that I was going to play the female character in the video and Elsie will be the singer who will be lip syncing the words. We are still figuring out who will play the male role.
some extra information I found out:
Used in video games such as Disney INFINITY series (instrumental) and Disney Crossy Road (8-bit) .
It is on the Tangled Original Soundtrack album and Now that's What I Call Disney 3.
It was written and composed by Grace Potter.
Some ideas that we put down for the video:
Shot of hands clapping to beat at the beginning using different angles.
Match on action - To the lyrics "He walked out the door".
Quick cuts to match upbeat and happy song.
Vibrant lighting - Will create a more positive feeling to the video which is what we want.
Low and high shots - me looking out the window.
Pan to me quickly at the beginning when she's introduced with cut zoom.
Make boy look free with the lyrics "He's a man of his own inventions" - long shot.
